62 Spring Street Approved for Low Income Tax Credits

In mid-December 2016, MaineHousing approved Anew Development’s 62 Spring St. project for 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credits. A new 41-unit building in Auburn, ME, 62 Spring Street Apartments- by Auburn Housing, was awarded the highest number of points available. Construction will start in late spring of 2017 with a move-in goal of early 2018. “We’re thrilled that this project is going ahead,” said Ethan Boxer-Macomber of Anew and Brian Curley of PDT Architects, “and we’re delighted to be partnering with Auburn Housing to provide much-needed family housing in the heart of Auburn.” The PDT team for this project is Brian Curley, Marilyn Leivian, and Adam McKinnon.

MaineHousing chose 6 projects from among 14 submitted to share more than $3 million in tax credits. All six received the highest possible score under the Qualified Allocation Plan. The $3.08 million in tax credits will supplement $28-30 million in private funds invested in these projects.
