Salem Street Housing

Portland, Maine     Current project

This 18-unit senior housing complex on a steeply sloping site in an urban residential neighborhood has views of Portland Harbor. In response to the neighborhood scale and density, and to the need for barrier-free access, this single three-story building takes on some of the elements of smaller residential structures. The neighborhood association has been included in the design process to assure compatibility with the changes to their street.
