Alyssa Phanitdasack, Matt Pitzer, Keegan Carmichael, and Adam McKinnon of PDT Architects are volunteering with the ACE Mentor Program, an after-school program for high school students interested in the architecture, construction, and engineering fields. The students are exposed to the ACE fields and professions through entertaining and educational activities and firsthand tours of construction sites. Some highlights from recent years: an architectural walking tour of Old Port Portland, a gumdrop and toothpick tower building competition, a bricklaying class, and a drone flying demonstration. ACE also provides scholarships for students who complete the program to enter any of the ACE fields. To find out more about the ACE Mentor Program, volunteer, or donate, visit www.acementor.org.
